Asalamu Alaykum Warahmatullah.

Dear brethren. I enjoy reading poetry, and I wondered whether a Turkish kardeş could translate this poem to English for me, since I am only a beginner in Turkish. These sufi poems often contain traces of shirk, so it's important for me to know the meaning of it before reciting it.

JazakAllahu Khairan.

AŞK BEZİRGÂNI

Aşk bezirgânı, sermaye canı,
Bahadır gördüm cana kıyanı.

Zehî bahadır, can terkin vurur,
Kılıç mı keser himmet giyeni?

Kamusun bir gör, kemterin er gör,
Adi görmegil palas giyeni.

Tez çıkarırlar fevkal'ulâya,
Bin isa gibi dine uyanı.

Tez indirirler tahtes-sarâya,
Bir karun gibi dünya kovanı.

Âşık olanın nişanı vardır,
Melâmet olur belli beyanı.

Atlası kodu, palası giydi,
İbrahim Edhem sırdan duyanı.

İlmin var deyi mağrur olmagıl,
Hak kabul etti kefen soyanı.

Çün Mansûr gördü, ol benim dedi,
Od'a yaktılar, işitin onu.

Od'a yandırdın, külün savurdun,
Öyle mi gerek seni seveni?

Zinhâr ey Yunus, gördüm demegil,
Od'a yakarlar gördüm diyeni.

It's a long story akhi, I might explain it all one day. But I speak many languages and I enjoy studying poetry and history in the original languages. I really like to read old books, and I appreciate old Ottoman and pre-Ottoman litterature, but every time I want to read a Turkish book, I can't. Also Turkish sounds very sweet, like farsi. And it is close to farsi and other languages, so it's easy to learn. I maybe understand 75% of normal Turkish, and I understand some parts of this poem as well, but not all of it.

Wa alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

I would try if I could but it contains many words wich are not really used today, and I also don't know much (maybe nothing) about turkish literature. One needs to know the intepretation of it too, to translate it into another language. You can make other translating requests but I personally don't really read or understand poems :)

Merchant of love, life of capital
I saw the valiants who killing

A nice valiant, hitting your leaving of life
Is sword cut the who wearing himmat?

Your sea, just see it. Your poor, see it with bravery
Dont despise the who wearing 'palas'

They will raised to Almighty of Almighties
Who complied the religion like a thousand of Jesus

They will dropped to under the palace
Who loved the world like a rich

Who falled in love, he has a engagement
His declaration being the blame

He put the 'atlas', wore the 'palas'
Ibrahim Edhen who hear from secret

Don't be proud for you have science
Haqq accepted who stripping the shroud

Cause Mansour saw it, said that (god) is my. - (hasha wa kalla! shirk of wahdati wujud) -
They burned for flame of love, hear it

Never O Yunus! Don't say "i saw"
They will burned who said "i saw"

---------------------------

If some sentences seems absurd to you don't care, understanding of Ottoman Turkish poems are different and they are hard.

---------------------------

Palas : Rough Rugs or clothes from goat hair
Atlas : Bright Fabrics from silk.

Kardeş bura yanlış olmus bence : Cause Mansour saw it, said be mine...
Aitlik anlamında "benim" demiyor. Mansur burada " ol / o( Allah) benim" derken vahdeti vucud şirkinden bahsediyor.Yani burada "mine" kelimesini kullanmak yqnlış gibi Allahu Alem.
